Prince Mark Group of Companies Hands Over Teachers’ Bungalows to Queens Girls SHS to Improve Quality Education and Welfare

Elder Prince Asamoah and his wife, Mrs. Margaret Asamoah, Chief Executive Officer of the Prince Mark Group of Companies, have handed over four two-bedroom teachers’ apartment units to Sefwi Anhwiaso Queens Girls Senior High School to support quality education and improve the welfare of teachers.

The newly constructed accommodation, which was fully funded by Elder Prince Asamoah and Mrs. Margaret Asamoah, is expected to provide decent and convenient accommodation for teachers while creating a more conducive environment for teaching, learning and student supervision.

The project was officially dedicated and handed over to the school authorities at a ceremony attended by traditional leaders, school authorities, teachers, students and other stakeholders.

Speaking on behalf of the Prince Mark Group of Companies, Mrs. Margaret Asamoah explained that the decision to undertake the project followed a request from the school authorities for support towards the provision of accommodation for teachers.

She said she and her husband considered the request important because the welfare of teachers plays a significant role in ensuring effective teaching and learning.

According to her, providing teachers with suitable accommodation would help them work more efficiently and remain closer to the school community.

Mrs. Asamoah stressed that the development of communities should not be regarded as the sole responsibility of government.

She noted that individuals, businesses, traditional authorities and other organisations with the resources and vision could make meaningful contributions towards addressing developmental challenges in their communities.

She therefore encouraged other private individuals and corporate organisations to support educational institutions and initiatives that seek to improve the lives of teachers and students.

The President of the National House of Chiefs and Omanhene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, commended Elder Prince Asamoah and Mrs. Margaret Asamoah for their contribution to the development of education in the area.

Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, who is also the founder of Sefwi Anhwiaso Queens Girls SHS, described the construction of the teachers’ accommodation as a significant intervention and appealed to other individuals and organisations to emulate the gesture.

He urged Ghanaians to cultivate a culture of supporting quality education and the welfare of teachers, stressing that the responsibility of improving education should be shared among all stakeholders.

The Headmistress of Sefwi Anhwiaso Queens Girls SHS, Mrs. Evelyn Doris Acquah, expressed appreciation to the donors for responding to the school’s request.

She explained that the absence of adequate teachers’ accommodation had posed challenges to the school, particularly in ensuring that teachers remained close enough to effectively monitor students outside regular classroom hours.

According to her, the new apartments would provide decent accommodation for teachers and also enhance discipline, supervision and student welfare.

She said having teachers closer to the school would enable them to monitor students more effectively, respond quickly to emergencies and provide additional support when necessary.

Mrs. Acquah described the project as a major boost to the school and expressed hope that it would contribute to improving the overall academic environment.

The school authorities and stakeholders expressed gratitude to the Prince Mark Group of Companies and the Asamoah family for their investment in the school.

The initiative is expected to strengthen the partnership between the private sector and educational institutions while demonstrating the important role individuals and businesses can play in complementing government efforts to improve educational infrastructure.

The stakeholders further called on other philanthropists, companies and organisations to support schools with infrastructure, teaching and learning materials and other resources needed to improve the quality of education across the country.
