Hairdressing apprentices in the Asunafo South District have expressed their appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the area and Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon. Dr. Eric Opoku, for donating hairdryer machines to support their vocational training and professional development.
The donation is aimed at providing the beneficiaries with essential equipment to enhance their practical training, improve their skills and prepare them for future employment opportunities in the beauty and hairdressing industry.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Dr. Eric Opoku explained that the gesture forms part of his corporate social responsibility and commitment to supporting young women, particularly those pursuing vocational and technical skills.
He noted that empowering young ladies through skills training and the provision of essential working equipment would help them become financially independent and contribute meaningfully to society.
He further encouraged the beneficiaries to take their apprenticeship training seriously, remain dedicated to their profession and make good use of the machines to improve their skills.
According to him, supporting young women to acquire employable skills is an important step towards reducing unemployment and creating opportunities for economic empowerment.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed excitement and gratitude to the Member of Parliament for remembering them and providing them with the hairdryer machines.
They explained that the equipment would make their training easier, improve their practical experience and prepare them to establish their own businesses after completing their apprenticeship.
They also pledged to make good use of the machines and work hard to justify the support received.
The donation is expected to contribute to vocational skills development in the Asunafo South District while encouraging more young women to pursue hairdressing and other entrepreneurial ventures as a means of achieving financial independence.
