Christians Must Turn Away from Sin and Embrace Righteous Living – Rev. David Aduampong

The Head Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Bibiani Assembly, Rev. David Aduampong, has urged Christians across the country to turn away from sinful lifestyles and wholeheartedly embrace righteousness, stressing that true believers must reflect the character of Christ through their words, actions, and daily conduct.

Speaking during a church service at the ICGC auditorium in Bibiani, Rev. Aduampong said many of the challenges confronting individuals, families, and the nation could be addressed if Christians remained faithful to God's commandments and lived according to biblical principles.

He explained that accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is only the beginning of the Christian journey, adding that believers must continually strive to live holy lives by rejecting sin and pursuing righteousness.

According to him, the Bible clearly teaches that God hates sin but loves those who sincerely repent and seek His forgiveness. He therefore encouraged Christians not to take God's grace for granted but to constantly examine their lives and make conscious efforts to obey His Word.

Rev. Aduampong cautioned believers against engaging in immoral behaviour, corruption, dishonesty, greed, hatred, envy, gossip, drunkenness, and every act that dishonours God. He noted that such practices not only weaken a person's relationship with God but also negatively affect families, churches, workplaces, and society as a whole.

He further stated that Christians have been called to be ambassadors of Christ and should therefore demonstrate love, humility, honesty, patience, forgiveness, and kindness in every aspect of their lives. According to him, the greatest way to preach the Gospel is through a lifestyle that reflects the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The pastor encouraged believers to remain committed to prayer, regular study of the Holy Scriptures, fasting, and active participation in church activities, describing these spiritual disciplines as essential for maintaining a close relationship with God and resisting temptation.

Rev. Aduampong also appealed to Christians to extend love and support to the poor, widows, orphans, and other vulnerable members of society. He said acts of generosity and compassion are practical demonstrations of the Christian faith and fulfil Christ's commandment to love one another.

Touching on national development, he observed that Ghana would experience greater peace, justice, and prosperity if citizens, especially Christians, upheld moral values and acted with integrity in their homes, schools, workplaces, businesses, and public offices.

He urged parents to raise their children in the fear of God and to serve as role models by exhibiting godly character, noting that strong moral foundations within families are essential for building responsible future leaders.

Rev. Aduampong concluded his message by calling on Christians not to lose hope despite the economic and social challenges confronting the nation. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith, trust in God's promises, and continue doing good at all times, assuring them that God rewards those who faithfully serve Him and walk in obedience to His Word.

He finally offered prayers for peace, unity, and divine guidance for Ghana, asking God to strengthen the Church to remain a beacon of hope and righteousness in society.
