SOCIAL : Residents appeal for electricity to make health facility fully operational

The residents of Asawinso Adwumam, a farming community in the Asunafo South district, have appealed to stakeholders to consider helping their Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound get back electricity again after their facility burnt a month ago.

Mr Emmanuel Seku, the Assembly member for the Asawinso Adwumam electoral area, spoke with Bibianinews.com and expressed that providing electricity to the facility would encourage the health personnel who will be posted there to stay, as well as save them from operating with torchlights during emergencies at night.

A staff member at the facility informed Bibianinews.com that the unavailability of electricity prevents the storage of essential drugs such as anti-snake medicines.

She used the opportunity to appeal to authorities to come into their aid and maintain their manhole pit, too.
