Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin led a delegation of parliamentary leaders to pay their respects to the family of Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, who tragically died in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025, along with seven other high-profile individuals.
During the visit, Bagbin reflected on the inevitability of life and death, urging the family to find solace in Limuna's good legacy.
"Man will always propose, and God will dispose. None of us knows when we will come into the world, and none of us knows when we will leave. So, we thank God because He gave us very good people, and they have served well," Bagbin said.
He described Limuna as a trusted aide and confidant, recalling their long-standing relationship. "He was my administrator, and before you saw me, you had to see him first," Bagbin noted, adding that Limuna had been "very, very close" to him since their time working together at the Ministry of Health.
The delegation, comprising Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei, and Majority Chief Whip Rockson Nelson Dafeamekpor, offered words of comfort and paid tribute to Limuna's dedicated service. Notably, the burial ceremony for Limuna and another victim, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, took place on Sunday, August 10, in accordance with Islamic rites.¹ ²
In a related development, President John Dramani Mahama, who had a close relationship with both Limuna and Muhammed, described their loss as deeply painful. He pledged to continue the government's "reset agenda" in their honor, saying, "I believe that they would have wanted us to continue with the hard work that we were doing with them.
