Jesus Open Doors Donates Wheelchairs to Bibiani Municipal Hospital to Mark Birthday

Bibiani, Western North Region – Renowned philanthropist Jesus Open Doors has donated wheelchairs to the Bibiani Municipal Hospital as part of activities marking his birthday, demonstrating his commitment to improving healthcare delivery and supporting vulnerable patients in the municipality.

The donation, which included several wheelchairs, is expected to ease the movement of patients within the hospital and enhance the quality of care provided by health professionals.

Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Jesus Open Doors said he chose to celebrate his birthday by putting smiles on the faces of patients and supporting the work of healthcare professionals instead of organising an elaborate celebration.

According to him, every citizen has a responsibility to contribute to national development, stressing that the burden of improving public institutions should not be left to the government alone.

"When we say government, it is we the citizens. If God has blessed you and you have the means, you should support government institutions. Every little contribution can make a big difference in improving the lives of our people," he stated.

He noted that public hospitals play a vital role in society and therefore deserve the support of individuals, philanthropists, religious organisations and corporate bodies. He encouraged Ghanaians to cultivate the habit of giving back to their communities by supporting schools, hospitals and other public institutions.

Also addressing the gathering, Mr. Francis Coffie emphasised the need for a strong maintenance culture in public institutions. He urged management of the hospital to properly maintain the donated wheelchairs to ensure they serve patients for many years.

He explained that many generous individuals are discouraged from making donations because equipment and other items are sometimes left to deteriorate due to poor maintenance. He therefore called on institutions across the country to protect and maintain donated assets for the benefit of future users.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital, Mrs. Justina Akuvi Dotse, Chief Nursing Officer at the Bibiani Municipal Hospital, expressed profound appreciation to Jesus Open Doors for the thoughtful gesture.

She described the donation as timely, saying the wheelchairs would greatly improve patient care, particularly for the elderly, persons living with disabilities and patients who have difficulty moving on their own.

Mrs. Dotse assured the donor that the hospital would take good care of the wheelchairs and ensure they are used for the purpose for which they were donated.

While expressing gratitude, she appealed to other philanthropists, corporate organisations, non-governmental organisations and benevolent individuals to extend similar support to the hospital.

According to her, although the hospital continues to provide quality healthcare services to the public, it is currently in urgent need of hospital beds and mattresses to meet the increasing number of patients accessing healthcare at the facility.

She said additional beds and mattresses would help improve patient comfort, reduce pressure on the hospital's limited resources and enhance the quality of healthcare delivery.

The donation by Jesus Open Doors forms part of his ongoing commitment to community development and humanitarian service. His decision to mark his birthday by supporting the Bibiani Municipal Hospital has been widely commended, with many describing the gesture as an example worthy of emulation.
