Kennedy Agyapong’s Presidential Bid Gains Major Boost After Alfred Obeng Boateng’s Atwima Mponua Tour
Hon. Alfred Obeng Boateng, former Member of Parliament for the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency, has successfully concluded an intensive campaign tour of the Atwima Mponua Constituency in support of New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
The tour formed part of ongoing grassroots mobilisation efforts aimed at engaging party executives and delegates ahead of the NPP’s presidential primaries. It focused on presenting Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s leadership vision and strengthening support at the constituency level.
Addressing party delegates during the engagements, Hon. Obeng Boateng described Hon. Kennedy Agyapong as a bold, principled, and results-driven leader who remains deeply connected to the grassroots of the party.
“Kennedy Agyapong is not a career politician disconnected from the grassroots. He is a man who has walked the journey with party foot soldiers, spoken truth to power, and consistently stood for accountability and development,” he stated.
The tour began at Kwanfinfi, drawing delegates from Anyinamso, Abasua, Kwanfinfi, and Nkrumah/Betinko. Hon. Obeng Boateng urged party members to prioritize unity, competence, and credibility in selecting the party’s next flagbearer.
The team later moved to Akonnkye, where delegates from Kotokuom, Akonnkye, and Saakrom were engaged. There, the former MP underscored the need for courageous and decisive leadership within the NPP.
“At this critical stage in our party’s history, we need a leader who is fearless, honest, and ready to protect the integrity of the NPP. Kennedy Agyapong has demonstrated these qualities over the years,” he noted.
Further engagements were held at Adobewora, involving delegates from Achiase, Ntobroso, and Adobewora, before concluding the day at Agogoso, where Hon. Obeng Boateng encouraged delegates to vote with conviction and the future of the party firmly in mind.
The second phase of the tour commenced at Bayerebon No. 5, bringing together delegates from Bayerebon No. 5, Bayerebon No. 3, and Obuasikrom.
Subsequent meetings were held with party members from Antwi Agyeikrom and Foriwa Nkwanta at Kuffour Camp, where Hon. Obeng Boateng highlighted Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s strong commitment to economic empowerment, job creation, and youth development.
“Our party must present a candidate who appeals to the youth, traders, farmers, and floating voters. Kennedy Agyapong’s life story and achievements resonate with the ordinary Ghanaian,” he said.
The tour continued to Anansu and Gyereso, engaging delegates from Tanodumase and Gyereso, before concluding at Ahyiresu, marking the end of the constituency-wide outreach.
Hon. Obeng Boateng expressed gratitude to party executives, coordinators, and delegates for their warm reception and active participation. He further called for peaceful, respectful, and issue-based campaigning as the party prepares for its primaries.
“Let us campaign with respect and maturity. At the end of the day, we are one party with a shared goal of breaking the eight and securing victory for the NPP,” he concluded.
The Atwima Mponua tour represents another significant milestone in the growing grassroots mobilisation campaign in support of Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong’s presidential bid, as the NPP intensifies preparations toward the upcoming primaries.
