The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency in the Western North Region, Hon.Alfred Obeng Boateng has presented over 40 bags of rice, cartons of Cooking oil and an undisclosed amount of money in an envelope to Bibiani Anglican Church as his humble contribution to the Christian community in the Constituency to mark this year’s new year celebration.
He said the new year period should be used to strengthen existing friendships and establish new ones.
While presenting the food items, Hon Alfred Obeng Boateng urged the Constituents to show mutual respect for one another’s religion and try to live peacefully with one another irrespective of political, cultural, and religious differences.
“It is with great pleasure that I, on behalf of myself, the government, and the entire people of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency, extend my warm and sincere message of goodwill to all Christians on the occasion of the 2024 new year celebration.
“Throughout his life, Jesus Christ preached peace, honesty, love for one another, and, above all, fear of God. It is these virtues that people, irrespective of their religious belief, are enjoined to imbibe and put into practice.
“While we celebrate the event with meditation and happiness, we should also reflect seriously on our routine and spiritual deeds in the past years and pray to God for better and prosperous years ahead,” he said.
He entreated them to remember him in their prayers as the NPP party is prepared for parliamentary primaries on 27th of this month.
The Anglican Church leadership, led by Venerable Charlse Nyame Arthur, received the items and expressed appreciation to the MP for the gesture.
He commended the MP for supporting and helping constituents residing in the Constituency to enjoy and have fun filled celebration.
He, however, prayed for the success of Hon Alfred Obeng Boateng administration and the sustenance of peaceful coexistence in the Constituency.
