The Bibiani-Anwhiaso-Bekwai Municipal Director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Martha Nneka Opara says the 1992 constitution of Ghana made “her” independence strong and focused.
Speaking to Bibianinews.com, Madam Martha noted that the country gaining post independence progress depends on the constitution. The 1992 constitution is the oldest in the country’s history, which has given us some fundamental human rights and prevented chaos in the country.
On the other hand, she identified that we hail negativity and behave with a colonial mindset and do many things that affect the nation.
We should all protect the country, guide it jealously while urging us to report bribe takers, especially in government institutions, and should allow the law to take its course against us when we fault.
In Ghana, we are not always equal before the law and that isn’t the problem of our constitution but the implementors which include all of us, we should accord the constitution and the defend the good name of Ghana, she voiced.
