W/N :“Clients must request proof of certification before employing the services of electricians,” - Energy Commission

The Western North Regional Energy Commission Director Mr.Mustapha Frimpong has urged homeowners, commercial business owners and industrial businesses to demand proof of certification before employing the services of electricians.

He emphasized that the services provided by uncertified electricians expose clients to a range of electrical hazards, including electrocution, severe burns, and fire outbreaks.

"I believe this measure will be effective in bringing these uncertified electricians under control,” he stated.

To mitigate the dangers arising from the work of uncertified electricians, Mustapha Frimpong revealed that the Energy Commission would continue its community engagement efforts to educate the public about the importance of using certified electricians.

“The Energy Commission has also created a platform that is in the form of an application which allows everyone to confirm whether an electrician is certified before employing the services of the person. On the app is a column for clients to report electricians to the Commission.

He advised clients to listen to electricians because safety cannot be valued. “Clients usually force electricians to cut corners, but this isn’t right. Electricians should be allowed to do their work without interference from clients,” he added.
