Sefwi Awaso Compound Tragedy: MCE Pays Condolence Visit

The Municipal Chief Executive for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, Hon. Sebastian Obeng, paid a condolence visit to the families of the four children who tragically lost their lives due to a lightning strike on a soccer field in Sefwi Awaso Compound.

The incident occurred on Monday evening when the children were playing football in the rain.

*Details of the Incident:*

• Four children died: David Obeng, 12, Vincent Yeboah, 9, Francis Asumadu, 13, and Josuah Omane Badu, 10

• 

- One child, a 6-year-old, survived and is receiving medical attention at Green-shield Hospital in Sefwi Bekwai.

Hon. Obeng extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, assuring them of his unwavering support during this difficult period.

Mr. Kennedy Ayitey Wisdom, the Assembly member for Sefwi Awaso Central Electoral Area, on behalf of the deceased families, thanked the MCE for his gesture, saying this demonstrat the MCE's commitment to supporting citizens during times of crisis. 

He used the opportunity to advise parents and guardians to take good care of their children during the rainy season.
