Western North Region : Chief Calls for Shift in Ghanaian Education System

Nana Kwasi Gyabeng II, Chief of Sefwi Denkyemoase and Sefwi Abisahene for the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area, has urged a transformation in the Ghanaian education system.

Speaking at the send-off ceremony for Mr. Abraham Fletcher, the outgoing Municipal Director of Education for Sefwi Wiawso Municipality, Nana Gyabeng II advocated for a shift from a results-oriented approach to one that focuses on individual development.

The Issue with Results-Oriented Education

According to Nana Gyabeng II, the current system praises students for good grades, while teachers are blamed for poor performance. This has led to an increase in examination malpractices, as students prioritize grades over genuine learning.

A Call for Practical Education

Nana Gyabeng II emphasized the need for practical works in education, enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. He urged the government and key stakeholders to encourage this approach, making education more effective and relevant.

Working Harder for a Better Future

In conclusion, Nana Gyabeng II encouraged everyone to work diligently in their respective fields, striving for excellence and contributing to the development of the nation.
