Residents of Amadukeom, Nsiakrom, Abotanso and Nyamakrom Appeal for Improved Social Amenities
Residents of Amadukeom, Nsiakrom, Abotanso and Nyamakrom in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region are appealing to the government, the Municipal Assembly and other development partners to urgently provide essential social amenities to improve their standard of living.
According to the residents, the communities have for years struggled with inadequate infrastructure and limited access to basic services, making life difficult for both children and adults. They say the lack of good roads, potable drinking water, healthcare facilities, quality educational infrastructure and other essential services continues to hinder the socio-economic development of the area.
Some residents expressed concern over the poor condition of roads linking the communities, especially during the rainy season when movement becomes extremely difficult. They noted that the situation affects farming activities, transportation of goods and access to healthcare services.
They also called for improved access to clean drinking water, electricity extension to underserved areas, better school facilities and the establishment of healthcare services to meet the growing needs of the population.
Speaking on behalf of the communities, the Assembly Member for the Bethlehem Electoral Area, Mr. Samuel Abugri, acknowledged the developmental challenges confronting the area and appealed to the appropriate authorities to intervene.
Mr. Abugri stated that although efforts have been made to draw attention to the needs of the communities, much more support is required to bridge the development gap. He stressed that the provision of basic social amenities would not only improve the living conditions of residents but also promote economic activities, education and healthcare delivery.
He further appealed to the government, corporate organisations, non-governmental organisations and philanthropists to support development initiatives within the electoral area.
The Assembly Member expressed optimism that with collective effort and commitment from all stakeholders, the communities of Amadukeom, Nsiakrom, Abotanso and Nyamakrom would witness significant improvements in infrastructure and social services in the near future.
Residents remain hopeful that their appeal will receive the needed attention, leading to meaningful development that will enhance the welfare and livelihoods of people in the affected communities.
