The Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Madam Adiza Mohammad, has extended a generous gesture of support to elderly Muslim women in Bibiani Zongo and Sefwi Awaso as part of activities marking this year’s Ramadan.
The donation, which comprised assorted food items and other essential supplies, was aimed at assisting aged Muslim women who are observing the holy month of fasting and prayer. The kind gesture brought joy and relief to the beneficiaries, many of whom expressed heartfelt appreciation for being remembered during this spiritually significant period.
Speaking to the media after the presentation, Madam Adiza Mohammad explained that the initiative was purely a personal effort inspired by her faith and compassion.
“As Muslims observe Ramadan, a period dedicated to fasting, prayer and charity, I found it necessary to show love and support to my elderly mothers who are also participating in the fasting,” she stated. “This donation is not from the NDC as a political party, but from my own heart as a Muslim woman who understands the importance of giving during this sacred month.”
She emphasized that Ramadan is not only a time for spiritual reflection, but also a season that encourages generosity, kindness and support for the less privileged in society.
Madam Adiza Mohammad also used the occasion to urge parents to place greater emphasis on their children’s education. According to her, education remains a powerful tool for personal development and community transformation.
“I want to encourage all parents to motivate their wards to take their education seriously. The future of our community depends on how well we nurture and educate our children today,” she added.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Amariya Afirewa Yakubu expressed profound gratitude to Madam Adiza Mohammad for the thoughtful gesture. She thanked her for remembering the elderly during Ramadan and offered prayers for Allah’s continued blessings, protection and guidance upon her life and leadership.
The donation has since been widely commended by community members, who described it as timely and reflective of the true spirit of Ramadan a season of compassion, sacrifice and giving.
