Hon. Eric Opoku Announces Major Road Projects for Kwapong and Nobekaw Communities

Sankore, Ahafo Region – The Member of Parliament for Asunafo South and Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, has announced major road infrastructure projects for the Kwapong and Nobekaw communities as part of efforts to improve transportation and accelerate development in the constituency.

Hon. Eric Opoku made the announcement during the sod-cutting ceremony to officially restart construction of the Sankore lorry terminal, a project expected to improve transportation, commercial activities, and mobility within the area.

Addressing residents and stakeholders, the Asunafo South MP said the government remains committed to expanding road infrastructure to improve access to communities and enhance economic growth.

He disclosed that approximately three kilometres of inner-town roads in Kwapong have been earmarked for construction to improve movement within the community and provide residents with safer and more reliable roads.

"In tandem with these efforts, Kwapong and Nobekaw communities will also benefit from significant road infrastructure improvements. Approximately three kilometres of inner-town roads in Kwapong are slated for construction, promoting easier transit within the area," he stated.

Hon. Eric Opoku further announced that Nobekaw will also benefit from the upgrading of its inner-town roads, describing the project as a major intervention that will improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and support socio-economic activities.

He noted that the road projects form part of a broader development agenda aimed at addressing the infrastructure needs of communities across the Asunafo South Constituency.

The announcement was welcomed by residents, who expressed optimism that the projects, together with the resumption of work on the Sankore lorry terminal, would significantly improve transportation, stimulate local businesses, and enhance the quality of life in the constituency.
