Breaking News: One Dead, Several Injured After Pit Collapse at Asante Gold Bibiani Limited

A tragic incident has occurred at a mining site belonging to Asante Gold Bibiani Limited in Bibiani, resulting in the death of one person and injuries to several others.

According to Mr. Daniel Arthur, uncle of the deceased, he was at work during the night when he received a distressing phone call from his wife informing him that his nephew, Nana Yaw, popularly known as “U-Dros,” had gone to the mining pit with some colleagues. Reports indicate that the pit collapsed on them while they were working.

Sadly, Nana Yaw, aged 22, was pronounced dead following the incident. Mr. Arthur stated that he was not at home at the time and could not confirm the exact number of individuals who had entered the pit. However, he has been informed that several others sustained injuries, with one victim referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for further medical treatment.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Bibiani Government Hospital mortuary pending further investigations.
