Big Aidoo Congratulates NDC Constituency Election Winners in Western North, Urges Unity
Western North Region – Hon. Michael Aidoo, popularly known as Big Aidoo, a Council of State member and the Western North Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has congratulated all aspirants who emerged victorious in the party’s constituency-level elections across the region.
He has also appealed to aspirants who lost their respective contests to remain committed to the party, stressing that electoral defeat should not be a reason for anyone to abandon the NDC.
According to him, elections are part of the democratic process, and while some candidates emerge victorious, others may lose. However, the outcome should not divide party members who share a common political goal.
Hon. Aidoo emphasised that all contestants remain members of one political family and must continue to work together despite their differences during the internal elections.
He further described the peaceful conduct of the elections as a victory for the entire party, noting that the absence of major confrontations and physical clashes demonstrated the importance of unity and discipline among members.
He maintained that the NDC should consider the peaceful atmosphere surrounding the elections as a collective achievement, rather than focusing solely on individual victories and defeats.
Calls on Winners to Work Towards 2028
The Western North Regional Chairman urged successful aspirants to see their victories as a responsibility to serve the party and its members, rather than an opportunity to celebrate at the expense of those who lost.
He encouraged the winners to work hard, demonstrate leadership, and unite their supporters with those of their opponents to strengthen the party’s structures across the region.
Hon. Aidoo also stressed the need for party members to put aside their differences and concentrate on building a united front ahead of the 2028 general elections.
He noted that maintaining unity at the constituency level would be essential to the NDC’s preparations for the next general elections.
He therefore called on both successful and unsuccessful aspirants, as well as their supporters, to work together in the interest of the party.
Unity as the Way Forward
Hon. Aidoo’s message comes at a time when political parties are expected to consolidate their internal structures following their internal electoral processes.
His appeal serves as a reminder that internal elections should strengthen democratic participation and leadership within the party rather than create divisions among members.
He urged NDC members across the Western North Region to remain focused, disciplined and committed to the party’s collective objectives as they prepare for the political activities ahead of the 2028 general elections.
