Growing Youth Participation in NPP Polling Station Elections Shows Renewed Confidence in Party — Isaac Osei Mensah Bonsu
An aspiring Youth Organizer for the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency of the New Patriotic Party, Isaac Osei Mensah Bonsu, has described the high participation of young people in the party’s ongoing polling station executive elections as a clear sign of renewed confidence and growing commitment among the youth toward rebuilding the party.
Speaking to the media after what he described as a successful polling station election at Subrinkwanta–Kojinah, Mr. Isaac Osei Mensah Bonsu noted that many young people contested for key positions including chairman, organizer, and other executive roles, with many emerging victorious.
According to him, the massive turnout and active participation of party members, especially the youth, demonstrate that the base of the NPP in Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai remains strong and determined to reorganize for future electoral victories.
He explained that many young people who were disappointed during the 2024 general elections had initially believed the then-opposition National Democratic Congress would bring significant improvement to the lives of Ghanaians.
However, he claimed that the current administration under President John Dramani Mahama has failed to meet the expectations of many citizens, leading to growing dissatisfaction among the youth.
“The large turnout clearly shows that the youth are returning to the NPP. Many believed the NDC would improve their lives, but they have now realized that the government has failed to deliver on its promises to Ghanaians,” he stated.
Mr. Bonsu said the time has come for committed and energetic young party members to rise and take leadership roles within the NPP to reposition the party for victory.
He called on party supporters to rally behind former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and constituency leadership hopeful Alfred Obeng Boateng to champion the development agenda of the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency.
According to him, the NPP has a proven track record of development and remains the best political alternative to transform the constituency and improve the welfare of the people.
He further criticized the current Member of Parliament for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai, stating that since assuming office, the MP has not delivered meaningful development projects to justify the confidence reposed in him by constituents.
Mr. Isaac Osei Mensah Bonsu therefore urged the youth to remain united, actively participate in the party’s internal democratic processes, and work collectively to restore the NPP’s dominance in the constituency ahead of future elections.
