NDC’s FIIFI KWETEY FIGURED IN TRIBAL POLITICS, SEAMAN DEMANDS APOLOGY; THREATEN DEMO AGAINST THE PARTY

The convener for News Patriotic Party (NPP) pressure group in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency Movement for Justice and Equal Right (MJER) Professor Alhaji Ben Ali Seaman has impressed upon the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fiifi Kwetey, to render an apology to the Northerners and Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia over the being disgrace to the Northerners comment.

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has described the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flag bearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as a “disgrace to the Northern Region.”

Speaking during the second day of former President John Mahama’s ‘Building Ghana Tour’ in Tamale, Mr Kwetey urged the people of the Northern Region to prevent Bawumia from winning the upcoming December elections by any means necessary.

To this extent, the Movement for Justice and Equal Right (MJER) is asking Fiifi Kwetey to retract some words they described as “disrespectful and derogatory” made by the latter against the character of Dr. Bawumia.

Speaking at a press conference today, the pressure group stands against any form of tribalism, discrimination, or belittlement towards individuals based on their region’s background. It is disappointing to witness such divisive language coming from someone with thin influence and authority."

They therefore call upon the NDC led by His Excellency President John Mahama to impress upon Hon. Fiifi Kwetey to yield to their demand of rendering unconditional apology for his derogatory comments. Otherwise they will protest against Fiifi Kwetey and the entire NDC.
