ERIC OPOKU SUPPORTS FASHION DESIGN APPRENTICES IN ASUNAFO SOUTH WITH SEWING MACHINES
The Minister of Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Asunafo South Constituency, Hon. Dr. Eric Opoku, has supported fashion design apprentices in the constituency with sewing machines as part of efforts to promote vocational skills training and empower young people to become self-reliant.
The intervention is aimed at providing the apprentices with the necessary equipment to enhance their practical training and prepare them for future employment opportunities in the fashion industry.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Dr. Eric Opoku explained that the support forms part of his commitment to assisting young people to acquire employable skills and establish themselves economically.
He further disclosed that he had paid the apprenticeship fees of the beneficiaries to enable them to enrol in fashion design training and acquire the necessary professional skills without allowing financial challenges to prevent them from pursuing their ambitions.
He encouraged the apprentices to take their training seriously, remain committed to learning and make good use of the sewing machines provided to them.
Hon. Dr. Opoku also advised them to respect their madams, listen to instructions and demonstrate discipline and dedication throughout their apprenticeship period.
He emphasised that vocational training offers young people an opportunity to become independent, create employment for themselves and contribute to the economic development of their communities.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the gesture, describing the support as timely and helpful to their professional development.
They thanked him for paying their apprenticeship fees and providing them with sewing machines, pledging to work hard, respect their trainers and make good use of the opportunity given to them.
The initiative is expected to strengthen vocational skills development in Asunafo South and encourage more young people to consider apprenticeship programmes as a pathway to employment and financial independence.
