MINISTER Of FOOD AND AGRICULTURE REWARDS ASUNAFO SOUTH NDC BRANCH EXECUTIVES WITH MOTORBIKES FOR THEIR ROLE IN 2024 ELECTION VICTORY

The Minister of Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Asunafo South Constituency, Hon. Eric Opoku, has donated motorbikes to NDC branch executives in the constituency in recognition of their commitment, sacrifices and contributions towards the party's victory in the 2024 general elections.

The gesture, according to the MP, is intended to appreciate the dedication of the grassroots party executives who worked tirelessly to mobilise voters and strengthen the party's presence across various communities before the December 2024 elections.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Eric Opoku commended the branch executives for their determination and sacrifices, particularly their house-to-house and village-to-village campaigns to secure electoral support for the NDC's presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, and himself as the parliamentary candidate for Asunafo South.

He noted that the branch executives played a significant role in the party's electoral success and therefore deserved recognition and appreciation for their efforts.

Hon. Eric Opoku recalled the difficult conditions under which some of the executives campaigned, explaining that while some relied on bicycles and others walked long distances from one community to another to canvass for votes, the political candidates themselves were sometimes travelling in comfortable V8 vehicles.

He said the situation demonstrated the level of commitment and sacrifice made by the grassroots executives, who remained dedicated to the party's campaign despite the challenges they encountered.

He expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries for standing firmly with the party throughout the campaign period and helping secure victory for both President John Dramani Mahama and himself.

The MP further disclosed that the motorbikes had already been registered and licensed in the individual names of the beneficiaries, making them the permanent owners.

He, however, advised them against selling the motorbikes, urging them to take proper care of the machines and use them to support their daily activities and community engagements.

BENEFICIARIES EXPRESS GRATITUDE

Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Hon. Eric Opoku for recognising their efforts and rewarding their sacrifices.

Recounting their experiences during the 2024 election campaign, they spoke about the challenges they encountered while moving from house to house and village to village to mobilise support for the NDC.

They described the donation as an important gesture of recognition and said they were happy that their contributions to the party's electoral success had been acknowledged.

The beneficiaries also pledged to take good care of the motorbikes and honour their promise not to sell them.

They further expressed their commitment to continue working with Hon. Eric Opoku and supporting his political ambitions, including his publicly expressed vision of becoming the NDC's presidential flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.

The donation highlights the role of grassroots party structures in political mobilisation and has provided an opportunity for the beneficiaries to reflect on their contributions during the 2024 general election campaign.
