FOOD AND AGRICULTURE MINISTER SUPPORTS FASHION DESIGN MASTERS AND MADAMS IN ASUNAFO SOUTH WITH INDUSTRIAL SEWING MACHINES
The Minister of Food and Agriculture and Member of Parliament for Asunafo South Constituency, Hon. Dr. Eric Opoku, has extended support to fashion design masters and madams in the constituency through the provision of industrial sewing machines to strengthen their businesses and improve vocational skills training.
The intervention forms part of efforts to support local entrepreneurs, promote technical and vocational education, and create opportunities for young people to acquire practical skills for employment and self-reliance.
The industrial sewing machines are expected to improve the working conditions of the beneficiaries, increase their production capacity and enable them to deliver quality services to their customers.
The support will also help fashion design masters and madams to provide a better learning environment for their apprentices, particularly those who are undergoing training to become professional fashion designers.
Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Dr. Eric Opoku reiterated the importance of supporting vocational skills development, explaining that fashion design and other technical professions play significant roles in creating employment and improving livelihoods.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the machines and ensure that they contribute to the growth of their businesses and the effective training of apprentices under their supervision.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the gesture, describing the support as a significant boost to their businesses.
They noted that the industrial machines would help improve their productivity, reduce some of the challenges associated with their work and enhance the quality of services they provide.
They further thanked Hon. Dr. Eric Opoku for recognising the contribution of fashion designers to skills development and economic growth in the constituency.
The initiative is expected to contribute to the promotion of vocational education, strengthen small-scale businesses and empower more residents of Asunafo South to become economically independent.
