Press Release from the Chairman of Patrons for NPP in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Professor Alhaji Ben Ali Seaman.

The press, Nananom, Ladies and Gentlemen, we have gathered here today to set the record straight. Former president Mahama and NDC openly supported the activities of the illegal miners, which makes the fight against the menace extremely difficult.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we all know that galamsey is destroying our forests and water bodies, but because of political gains, NDC and former president Mahama support the illegal activity. With this attitude, we cannot win the fight against galamsey because the NPP won the fight and almost caused our defeat in 2020 general elections,NPP lost in all galamsey areas across the country.

Ladies and gentlemen, the NDC and former president Mahama have come out once again with an agenda in pressuring the NPP government to harass illegal miners for political gains. They have bribed some media houses to attack and discredit the government on galamsey fight. NPP has learnt its lessons and this time round,we will allow small-scale miners to operate. Small-scale miners are helping our communities, they are building schools, hospitals and toilet facilities for our communities so government will continue to support them.So far, there is no reliable record of a militarized effort that has successfully eliminated this problem of illegal mining. We will not be deceived by NDC’S loose tactics and baseless accusations to affect our electoral fortunes this time round.

Ladies and gentlemen, the most effective way to win an election is by organizing, especially at the grassroots level. The level of arrogance among some MPs is too much. It’s getting out of hand, common phone calls they are refusing to pick,I mean, how? And they shouldn’t forget that every vote counts. A word to a wise is enough and December 7th is just around the corner.

Finally, ladies and gentlemen, the NPP government has consistently prioritized the needs of ordinary Ghanaians more than any other government. Let’s vote massively for Dr. Bawumia and all the NPP Parliamentary candidates on December 7th.
