DCOP DR. FRANCIS KWAME TSIDI URGES POLICE SPOUSES TO PRIORITIZE PEACE AND HARMONY

Sefwi Dwinase, Western North Region — The Western North Regional Police Commander, DCOP Dr. Francis Kwame Tsidi, has urged members of the Police Spouses Association to make peace, unity and harmony a priority in their marriages and within the Association.

According to him, the strength and effectiveness of the Ghana Police Service are closely linked to the stability and peace that exist within the homes of police officers.

DCOP Dr. Tsidi made the call during an engagement with members of the Police Spouses Association in the Western North Region, where he emphasized the important role spouses play in supporting police officers to effectively discharge their responsibilities.

He noted that police officers operate in a demanding environment, often working long hours and facing various challenges in maintaining law and order. He therefore encouraged spouses to provide the necessary emotional and moral support to their partners.

“Your role as wives and spouses of police officers is very critical. When there is peace and harmony in your homes, it reflects in the work of your husbands. When there is unity in the Association, it strengthens the entire Police Service,” he stated.

Support Police Officers

The Regional Police Commander urged members of the Association to serve as pillars of encouragement for their husbands and support them through the challenges associated with police work.

He encouraged the spouses to cultivate mutual respect, understanding and open communication in their marriages, while resolving disagreements through dialogue rather than allowing conflicts to escalate.

He further urged members to support one another and work collectively to promote the welfare and development of the Association.

Call for Economic Empowerment

DCOP Dr. Tsidi also encouraged members to take advantage of opportunities in skills development, entrepreneurship and income-generating activities to improve their financial independence.

He said empowering police spouses economically would not only improve the welfare of individual families but also enable members to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The Commander urged them to identify viable ventures and support each other with ideas and opportunities that could enhance their livelihoods.

Members Pledge Commitment

Members of the Police Spouses Association welcomed the advice from the Regional Police Commander and pledged to promote unity, mutual respect, peace and welfare among themselves.

They expressed their commitment to strengthening the Association and ensuring that it becomes an effective platform for supporting police families in the Western North Region.

DCOP Dr. Tsidi assured the Association of the continued support of the Regional Police Command and reiterated that a peaceful and united family environment is essential to building a stronger, more disciplined and professional Police Service.

He encouraged the members to work together in the spirit of solidarity and ensure that the Association becomes a source of strength not only to its members but also to police officers and the communities they serve.
