YEA CEO PRESENTS TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT TO WESTERN NORTH DIRECTORATE FOR DISTRIBUTION TO YOUTH BENEFICIARIES

Sefwi Dwinase, Western North Region — The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr. Malik Basintale, has presented a consignment of tools and equipment to the Western North Regional Directorate of the Agency for onward distribution to selected beneficiaries across the region.

The presentation forms part of the government's efforts to equip young people with the necessary resources and practical support to acquire skills, establish businesses and create sustainable sources of income.

The items are expected to support beneficiaries in various vocational and technical fields, providing them with the basic equipment needed to either start new businesses or expand existing ventures.

Tools and Equipment

Among the items presented are painters' tools, electricians' tools, welding tools, plumbing tools, carpentry tools, tilers' tools, beauticians' tools, construction workers' tools, auto mechanics' tools, hairdressers' tools, bakers' tools and catering equipment.

Other items include washing basins and impact drills, which are expected to complement the work of beneficiaries in their respective trades.

The intervention is aimed at supporting young people engaged in areas including construction, carpentry, welding, plumbing, tiling, electrical work, automobile repairs, beauty services, baking and catering.

CEO Calls for Transparent Distribution

Speaking during the brief presentation ceremony, YEA CEO Mr. Malik Basintale charged the Western North Regional Directorate to ensure that the equipment is distributed transparently and fairly to deserving beneficiaries.

He emphasized that the tools should be seen as an opportunity for beneficiaries to become economically active and build sustainable livelihoods.

“These tools represent opportunity. Make sure they get to the right people — those who are ready to work, ready to learn, and ready to build something for themselves and their communities,” he said.

Mr. Basintale urged the beneficiaries, once they receive the equipment, to use them for their intended purposes and take advantage of the opportunity to improve their skills and livelihoods.

Regional Directorate Assures Beneficiaries

The Western North Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency expressed appreciation to the management of the Agency for the intervention and assured that the items would be distributed promptly to verified beneficiaries.

He said the Directorate would put appropriate monitoring mechanisms in place to track the use of the equipment and assess the impact of the intervention on beneficiaries.

According to the Directorate, beneficiaries are expected to receive the tools and equipment in the coming days, with training and follow-up support to enable them to make effective use of the resources provided.

Tackling Youth Unemployment

The initiative forms part of the Youth Employment Agency's broader efforts to address youth unemployment through skills development, entrepreneurship, job creation and the provision of start-up tools and equipment.

The Agency has reiterated its commitment to empowering young people across the country with practical skills and resources that can help them become self-reliant and contribute to the economic development of their communities.
