CONFERENCE OF HEADS OF BASIC SCHOOLS(COHBS) HOLDS 1ST QUADRENNIAL CONFERENCE 

The Conference of Heads of Basic Schools (COHBS) held its 1st quadrennial conference to deliberate on pressing issues concerning education and the way forward. The conference was attended by dignitaries such as the 2nd Deputy Speaker and Member of Parliament for Adansi Fomena constituency, Hon. Andrews Amoako Assiamah, the DCE for Adansi North District, Hon. Charles Ogbeh, and the District Education Director, among others.

In an interview, Mr. George Addai Teng, the newly elected Chairman of COHBS, lamented on pressing issues that need attention, including inadequate funding for basic schools, lack of teaching and learning materials, and more. He urged all stakeholders, especially the government, to pay much attention to these problems and design solutions immediately.

The 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Fomena constituency, Hon. Andrews Amoako Assiamah, strongly condemned examination malpractice, particularly among some teachers. He emphasized that students are being trained for the future and that it's high time they were trained to become trusted and competent leaders.

Hon. Charles Ogbeh, the District Chief Executive for Adansi North District, pledged to work closely with the Education Directorate to overcome challenges such as child labor, students engaging in illegal mining activities (galamsey), teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, and more. He assured that the government is committed to solving pressing issues in education.
