The Chiefs and people of Kunziso, a sub-community in the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area of the Western North Region, recently observed an occasion to purify the stool of the land (Nkonwa so guguo) on Thursday, May 22nd, and Friday, May 23rd, 2025.
The occasion drew a number of chiefs and dignitaries from within and outside the area, making it a remarkable event. Speaking after the occasion, the Chief of Kunziso, Okokodufo Sor Bedieko II, said in his address that the purification of the stool is very important in terms of tradition.
According to Okokodufo Sor Bedieko II, many people shy away from participating in traditional festivities because they view them as evil. However, he emphasized that observing these festivities is not evil but rather a way to promote our customs and traditions. He therefore urged all citizens to fully participate in such occasions to promote our customs and traditions.
Highlighting the importance of full involvement in Ghanaian culture and traditions, the Kontihene of Kunziso, Nana Owoahene Acheampong, added his voice by educating Ghanaians to engage themselves in the observation of our culture and traditions for the benefit of future generations.
