Bibiani GNFS has reported a significant increase in fire cases - DO III Encok Tetter


The Bibiani Anhwiaso Municipality branch of the Ghana National Fire Service has reported a significant increase in fire cases. 

According to D.O III Encok Tetter, the Municipal Commander, the branch recorded 12 cases in the second quarter of 2025, compared to 3 cases in the same period of 2024.

Breakdown of Fire Cases

2024 (Second Quarter): 3 cases recorded, all of which were domestic-related, with no reported deaths.

2025 (Second Quarter): 12 cases recorded, with 5 being domestic-related and 3 reported deaths.

The Municipal Commander is urging the public to exercise caution with fire to prevent such incidents.

This alarming rise in fire cases is consistent with national trends, which show a 33% increase in fire-related deaths and a significant surge in injuries in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
