BIBIANI : NPP Patron Condemns Election Violence in Ablekuman North
Alhaji Ben Ali Seaman, Chairman of Patrons for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency, has condemned the violence that occurred during the re-run elections at Ablekuman North.
In a media interview, he emphasized that Ghana's reputation as a beacon of democracy demands that election violence be unequivocally condemned, regardless of the party in power.
Alhaji Seaman stressed the importance of leaders being mindful of their words and actions before, during, and after elections to prevent such incidents.
He commended the security forces for their swift response in aiding the former Member of Parliament during the incident.
The NPP Patron also called for a review and amendment of the "anti-vigilantism" bill to address any loopholes that might be contributing to such incidents. He believes that with proper legislation, such occurrences can be prevented in the future.
Alhaji Seaman expressed confidence that the current administration, led by the Vice President, will investigate the Ablekuman North incident and previous ones, ensuring justice prevails. He cited the example of former President John Mahama's swift response to similar incidents, demonstrating the importance of leadership condemnation of violence.
