Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Hon Alfred Obeng Boateng, demonstrated his commitment to overseeing the development of his constituency by embarking on a comprehensive inspection of the Sefwi Muoho project.
The purpose of this inspection was to assess the progress of ongoing work and ensure that projects are being executed effectively and efficiently.
During his inspection, MP Hon.Alfred Obeng Boateng visited Sefwi Muoho six unit classroom blocks and accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Paul Andoh, Alhaji Ben Ali Seaman and his personal aid, Mr Solomon Kwame Boamah. He meticulously examined the site, closely observing the ongoing work and engaging with contractors and project managers.
The inspection allowed the MP to assess the quality, timeline, and adherence to budget of the project, ensuring that resources are being utilized optimally and that the projects align with the needs of the local community. This hands-on approach demonstrates the MP’s dedication to ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective implementation of development initiatives.
The project comprises six unit classrooms and ancillary facilities- a staff office, a library, and toilet facilities.
The leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work exhibited by the contractor. They, however, urged the contractor to engage the stakeholders in the community frequently to avoid any misunderstanding. The exercise was undertaken to monitor the contractor for quality work and value for money.
The project is funded by GES and is expected to be completed and handed over to the school within 12 months.
In a press briefing, Hon Alfred Obeng-Boateng indicated that a similar facility has been earmarked for Nzema Nkwanta JHS. He added that a solid foundation had been laid in the first three years and the fourth year will be the completion and execution of more infrastructural projects. He pleaded with the site engineers to insist on quality work, but they should not condone substandard jobs.
