ATWIMA MPONUA NPP CHAIRMAN CALLS FOR UNITY, VOWS TO STRENGTHEN PARTY

The newly elected Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atwima Mponua Constituency, Kofi Antwi Bosiako, popularly known as Nash, has called for unity among party members following the constituency executive elections.

Speaking after his election, Mr. Antwi Bosiako thanked the delegates for the confidence they had reposed in him and urged all the aspirants and their supporters to put the contest behind them and work together for the party.

He said the NPP is one political family and stressed that there should be no divisions among members following the election.

According to him, the party's focus should now shift towards strengthening its structures and mobilising members at the grassroots.

Mr. Antwi Bosiako also made strong political remarks about the 2028 general election, saying he would work with the newly elected executives and other party stakeholders to retain the Atwima Mponua parliamentary seat for the NPP.

He stated that, in his view, the NPP and its members must remain united because they belong to one political family. He further described the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the party's political opponent and urged NPP members to concentrate on building the party rather than allowing internal disagreements to weaken its structures.

The newly elected chairman pledged to work hard with the constituency executives, delegates and grassroots members to strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general election.

He said fulfilling the promises he made during the campaign would be among his priorities and called on all contestants, including those who were unsuccessful, to support the new administration.

Mr. Antwi Bosiako emerged victorious in the chairmanship contest with 766 votes, ahead of Bismark Adjei Boadi, who polled 748 votes, while Jacob Yaro obtained 85 votes.

The election was conducted on September 19, 2026, after the constituency's earlier election was delayed following a legal challenge. The fresh exercise was conducted under the authorisation of the NPP and supervised by the Electoral Commission.

A total of 1,687 delegates were expected to participate in the exercise, with 32 aspirants contesting various constituency executive positions.
