Alleged Infant Murder Suspects at Bibiani Abofrem Remanded by Circuit Court
The Bibiani Circuit Court, presided over by His Honour Frank Asiedu Nimako, is hearing a disturbing case involving the alleged attempted murder of a five-month, two-week-old baby girl, Anaya Achia, at Abofrem near Bibiani.
The accused persons—Richmond Frimpong, 36; Beatrice Agyapomaa, 23; and Emmanuel Appiah, 53—have been remanded into custody.
A fourth suspect, identified as Donkor, remains at large and is being pursued by law enforcement authorities.
According to the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Benjamin Agyemang, the accused allegedly conspired to kill the infant under the guise of spiritual intervention. The court heard that the suspects attempted to bury the child after declaring her dead.
However, the baby was later discovered to be alive, a development that led to the arrest of the accused persons. The infant is currently receiving medical treatment.
The case has been adjourned to allow for further investigations, while efforts are underway to apprehend the suspect still on the run.
The court is expected to resume proceedings on 24th April 2026 as the prosecution prepares to present additional evidence.
