Aowin Omanhene Disburses Scholarship To 18 Needy Students

The Overland of Aowin Traditional Area, Bayeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuien III has disbursed scholarship funds to 18 needy but brilliant students studying

various courses in the tertiary institutions in the country.

They were made up of 8 level 200 students and ten level 100 students.

Since its inception, the scholarship scheme had supported over 100 students in both tertiary and pre-tertiary in the Aowin Traditional Area.

At a ceremony to disburse the funds on Sunday, August 19,2023, at the forecourt of Anyii palace, the chairman of the Aowin Omanhene's Educational Scheme, Monsignor Simon Asamoah said education was a passport to the future of the young generation in the area hence need to be support.

He said education must be balanced and be accessible to all regardless of their status in the society, whether rich or poor, privileged or handicapped or even disabled.

He stated that the Omanhene’s vision is that money should not be a barrier to deny any child the access to education in the area.

He added that no brilliant but needy child should be left behind.

He was of the view that a brilliant child of a peasant farmer in Aowin should have the equal chance of tertiary education as the child of the minister in Accra.

He challenged the beneficiaries not to abandon the area but to return home after their period of study and impact knowledge they’ve acquired in order to help build the capacities of others.

Some elated students and excited parents who were at the function were full of praise to the Omanhene for the rollout of the scheme.
