YEA CEO MALIK BASINTALE URGES BENEFICIARIES TO MAKE GOOD USE OF TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Sefwi Dwinase, Western North Region — The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr. Malik Basintale, has urged beneficiaries of the Agency’s tools and equipment distribution programme to make productive use of the items to improve their livelihoods, create employment opportunities and contribute to national development.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr. Basintale said the government's investment in young people goes beyond simply providing temporary employment, stressing the need to equip the youth with practical skills and resources that can help them establish sustainable businesses.

He described the tools and equipment as an important form of start-up capital for beneficiaries and encouraged them to use them responsibly to build sustainable livelihoods.

“These tools and equipment are not for show. They are your capital. They are your future. I urge you to make good use of them, be disciplined, be consistent, and let them work for you,” he stated.

Equipment to Support Young Entrepreneurs

The items distributed under the programme include industrial sewing machines, chest freezers, fufu pounding machines and other income-generating equipment designed to support young entrepreneurs and artisans in various fields.

According to the YEA CEO, the intervention is intended to provide beneficiaries with the practical resources required to either start their own businesses or expand existing ventures.

He encouraged beneficiaries to take their businesses seriously and develop a strong work ethic to ensure that the government's investment produces the desired results.

Call for Cooperatives and Training

Mr. Basintale further encouraged beneficiaries to take advantage of training, monitoring and mentorship opportunities provided by the Youth Employment Agency.

He also urged them to consider forming cooperatives, explaining that working together could improve their ability to access markets, funding opportunities, technical support and mentorship.

He stressed that the success of the programme would ultimately depend on how beneficiaries utilize the equipment provided to them.

“Government has done its part by providing the tools. Now it is up to you to turn these tools into jobs, into income, and into success stories that will inspire others,” he added.

Beneficiaries Pledge Commitment

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the government and the Youth Employment Agency for the support and pledged to use the equipment responsibly.

They said they would utilize the items to establish and expand their businesses, create employment opportunities, support their families and contribute to the development of their communities.

The Youth Employment Agency has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Ghanaian youth through skills training, job placement, entrepreneurship development and the provision of start-up tools and equipment.

The Agency believes that providing young people with the right skills, resources and support will help reduce unemployment while promoting entrepreneurship and economic independence among the youth.
