The Youth and Women Organizers’ Departments of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency have supported more than 120 first-year Senior High School (SHS) students with essential educational and personal items.

The support package included trunks, mattresses, chop boxes, sanitary pads, liquid soap, pens and exercise books, aimed at helping the students begin their secondary education with some of the basic items they need.

Speaking during the presentation, the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency NDC Youth Organizer, Mr. Yaw Marfo, said the initiative was introduced to ease the financial burden on parents and guardians preparing their children for Senior High School.

According to him, many families struggle to meet the growing cost of educational materials and other essential items required by students, making community and organizational support important.

Mr. Marfo said the initiative also demonstrates the commitment of the youth wing to supporting education and improving the welfare of young people within the constituency.

He encouraged the beneficiaries to take their education seriously, remain disciplined and make good use of the items provided to them.

The Constituency NDC Women Organizer, Madam Adizatu Mohammad, also highlighted the importance of supporting students, particularly female students, with items that contribute to their personal wellbeing and education.

She noted that the inclusion of sanitary pads and other personal-care items would help female students manage their menstrual needs comfortably and confidently while pursuing their studies.

Madam Adizatu called on parents and guardians to continue providing the necessary support and guidance to their children throughout their educational journey.

Parents Express Appreciation

Some parents of the beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the NDC Youth and Women Organizers for the gesture.

They said the items would help reduce the financial pressure associated with preparing their children for SHS and enable the students to settle into school more comfortably.

The parents commended the organizers for considering the needs of students and appealed to other individuals, organizations and institutions to emulate the initiative by investing in the education and welfare of young people in the constituency.

The beneficiaries, meanwhile, were encouraged to work hard, remain focused and make their parents, guardians and the constituency proud through academic excellence and good conduct.
