The former Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency member of parliament Hon Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu has acknowledged that while the NPP has many capable leaders among the vying presidential candidates, Kennedy Agyapong stands out.

He believes Agyapong is the only candidate who can create jobs for approximately sixty percent of the youth voters. He referenced a researcher, Musa Dankwah, who claimed that the NPP could have won the 2024 elections if Agyapong had been their flagbearer.

Hon Gyedu's endorsement of Agyapong is significant, given his experience as a former MP and Regional Minister. His assertion that Agyapong has the potential to create jobs for a substantial portion of the youth population highlights the candidate's appeal to a critical demographic. By citing Musa Dankwah's research, Gyedu adds weight to his argument that Agyapong's leadership could have yielded different electoral outcomes.

Gyedu argued that it is unfair to enter another election with a candidate who has previously failed simply because of their regional affiliation. He dismissed the notion that a particular candidate has been adequately marketed, stating, "It doesn't make sense; it doesn't hold water." This criticism suggests that Gyedu believes the party's selection process should prioritize candidates with proven track records or demonstrated potential, rather than relying on regional considerations.

He emphasized that now is the time for Agyapong to lead, urging the party to give him the flag to secure power. Gyedu's support for Agyapong reflects a broader sentiment within the party that the candidate has the potential to galvanize support and drive electoral success. By advocating for Agyapong's leadership, Gyedu is effectively calling for a shift in the party's approach to candidate selection, one that prioritizes electoral viability and leadership potential.
