OUTH IN AGRICULTURE: 10,000 YOUTH TO BE TRAINED IN AQUACULTURE - PRESIDENT AKUFO ADDO
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo says the government, through the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquacultural, will train 10,000 youth under the Aquaculture for food and jobs program to create 60,000 jobs for the Youth.
Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has launched Aquaculture for food and jobs program at R&B farms at Gomoa Nsuem in the Gomoa Central of the Central.
Speaking at the event, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, said the government is committed to make fish more accessible and affordable in the country will every Ghanaian will enjoy.
The First Gentleman of Ghana also commended R&B farms for supporting the government to create employment for about 60,000 youth in Ghana through Aquaculture.
He said, each of the youth will be supported with Ghc 38,700 as seed capital, also be provided with free fingerlings, and pond, which he encourages the Youth to take advantage of this opportunity.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquacultural who doubles as MP for Awutu Senya East Constituency, Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson said, the ministry is going to provide 5 million fingerlings to the 10,000 youth who are going to be trained in Aquaculture for food and job’s policy and believe that this policy will help reduce unemployment rate in the country.
Furthermore, Chief Executive officer for R&B farms Mr Richard Ekow Quansah says, their mission is to create 10million for the youth in the next 20 years.
He therefore entreats the youth to involve themselves in the training since will help them to better their future.
