Queens Girls SHS Headmistress Appeals for More Teachers’ Bungalows and Modern Facilities

The Headmistress of Sefwi Anhwiaso Queens Girls Senior High School, Mrs. Evelyn Doris Acquah, has appealed to individuals, organisations, philanthropists and other stakeholders to support the school with additional teachers’ accommodation and critical educational infrastructure.

Her appeal comes after she expressed appreciation to Elder Prince Asamoah and his wife, Mrs. Margaret Asamoah, Chief Executive Officer of the Prince Mark Group of Companies, for constructing and handing over four two-bedroom teachers’ apartment units to the school.

Mrs. Acquah described the gesture as a significant intervention that would help address some of the accommodation challenges confronting teachers and contribute to creating a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

According to the Headmistress, despite the new accommodation, the school still requires additional teachers’ bungalows to provide suitable accommodation for more members of staff.

She therefore called on other individuals, corporate organisations and development partners to emulate the Asamoah family’s gesture and support the school in expanding its accommodation facilities.

Mrs. Acquah further appealed for the construction of a modern science laboratory, stressing the importance of well-equipped science facilities in providing students with practical learning experiences and preparing them for further studies and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

She also identified the need for a modern assembly hall to support school activities, including general assemblies, academic programmes, examinations, meetings, cultural activities and other important events.

The Headmistress said the provision of these facilities would significantly enhance the learning environment and enable the school to provide quality education to its students.

She expressed gratitude to Elder Prince Asamoah and Mrs. Margaret Asamoah for responding to the school’s accommodation needs and urged other stakeholders to contribute to the development of Sefwi Anhwiaso Queens Girls SHS.

Mrs. Acquah emphasised that improving education requires collective effort, adding that support from individuals and organisations could complement government’s efforts and help schools address infrastructure gaps.

She said the school remains committed to providing quality education and nurturing students into responsible and productive members of society, but achieving that goal would require adequate infrastructure and resources.

The newly constructed teachers’ apartments are therefore expected to serve as an important step towards improving staff welfare, while the school continues to seek support for additional accommodation, a modern science laboratory and an assembly hall.
