NDC will reduce Hajj cost for Muslims, when voted again - Asutifi South MP
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), has acknowledged the high cost of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia for Ghanaian Muslims in recent years.
The Asutifi South Member of Parliament, Hon. Collins Dauda has thus reaffirmed NDC's commitment to decrease Hajj expenses when giving the nod in the 2024 general elections in December.
Alhaji Collins Dauda pointed out that the current Hajj cost of GH¢75,000 is excessively high, making it challenging for many regular Muslims to afford the pilgrimage to Mecca.
Alhaji Collins Dauda in his address during the inauguration of the Ahafo branch of the Ghana Muslims Mission said no farmer or individual in the Ahafo Region can afford to pay this huge amount of money to enable him to go are the privileged ones because we have had fares at GH¢75,000.
Hon. Collins Dauda said the NDC government under former President John Dramani Mahama created Hajj village and Tamale International Airport to reduce the stress of Muslims in the country and will make Hajj Village permanent and build more hostels among others to make Hajj attractive and affordable.
