As part of activities marking the upcoming Asuo Paamu Festival, Nana Baffour Gyau, the respected Chief Priest of Asuo Paamu at Bibiani Abofrem along the Goaso road, has led a massive clean-up exercise in the Abofrem community.

The initiative forms part of his commitment to promoting environmental cleanliness, strengthening community unity, and preserving cultural pride ahead of the festival.

The exercise, which began early in the morning, brought together members of the Aduana Ma Kro Ye Kuo, residents, youth groups, traders, and key opinion leaders. Participants swept major streets, desilted gutters, cleared overgrown weeds, and collected refuse from various parts of the town. Residents were also encouraged to tidy their homes and business areas to ensure the entire community looks clean and welcoming for the celebration.

Speaking to the media after the exercise, Nana Baffour Gyau explained that sanitation activities form an important part of the Asuo Paamu Festival, symbolizing purity, renewal, and the community’s readiness to receive blessings in the coming year.

He emphasized that maintaining a clean environment not only improves the community’s appearance but also helps prevent diseases associated with poor hygiene.

He further urged residents to sustain communal labour activities throughout the year and not limit them to festive occasions.According to him, a clean environment reflects the discipline, character, and unity of its people.

Expressing his appreciation, Nana Kwabena Manu, Gyasihene of Abofrem, thanked the Chief Priest and the entire Aduana Ma Kro Ye Kuo for initiating such an important exercise.

He noted that the activity has reignited a strong sense of responsibility and togetherness among residents. Nana Kwabena Manu also encouraged the community to continue supporting traditional leaders in their efforts to drive development and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Abofrem.

He added that the Asuo Paamu Festival remains one of the community’s most cherished traditional events, attracting visitors from several neighbouring towns. Ensuring a clean and pleasant environment, he said, is crucial to maintaining the dignity and reputation of Abofrem.

Preparations for the festival are well underway, with expectations of vibrant cultural displays, traditional rites, and activities that promote unity, identity, and community bonding.
