The Ghana Adventist Singing Group Association (GASGA) in the Western North Region has successfully held its annual conference at Sefwi Dwinase in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality. The meeting brought together singers, choir directors, regional leaders, and other stakeholders to discuss how SDA music can be strengthened and used more effectively as a tool for evangelism and spiritual upliftment.

This year’s conference focused on the theme of enhancing the quality, relevance, and spirituality of SDA songs within the church and beyond. Participants explored strategies to improve music ministry, build the capacities of choirs, and ensure that SDA songs continue to inspire worship, transform lives, and reflect the character of God.

Addressing the gathering, the President and Director of Music, Communication, and APM for the Western North Ghana Conference, Rev. Ps. Joseph Nnipa Asare, highlighted the powerful influence of music in ministry. According to him, music is not just an accompaniment to worship but a key component of evangelism.

Rev. Asare emphasized that during church service, the singing interludes often speak deeply to the hearts of worshippers. He noted that “music sometimes preaches more than the sermon itself, and the songs touch the heart in ways that spoken words may not. That is why we are committed to using music to preach the Word of God and draw people closer to Christ.” He added that lifting the image of SDA songs to a higher standard is a collective responsibility of all singing groups within the region.

Following the president’s address, several GASGA members shared their appreciation for the conference. They expressed gratitude to the regional leadership for organizing such an insightful and spirit-filled program. Many members described the meeting as timely, especially at a period when the role of gospel music in evangelism continues to grow.

The members appealed for more support in the areas of training, logistics, and resources to help enhance their performances and outreach activities. They also encouraged fellow singers to remain dedicated to their ministry, knowing that their voices play a vital role in winning souls for Christ.

The conference concluded with renewed commitment among the singing groups to uphold excellence, unity, and spiritual integrity in their music ministry as they look forward to a more impactful year ahead.
