The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Richard Boateng, has expressed appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Bright Asamoah Brefo, for supporting more than 430 students with educational materials.
Mr. Boateng said the gesture would go a long way towards supporting the beneficiaries as they prepare to begin their Senior High School (SHS) education.
He noted that the donation would also complement the efforts of parents and guardians who have the responsibility of providing the necessary educational materials for their children.
According to him, interventions of this nature are important in motivating students to take their education seriously and also encouraging them to strive for academic excellence.
Mr. Boateng assured that teachers within the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality would continue to put in their best to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
He said the Municipal Education Directorate remains committed to working with teachers, parents, community leaders and other stakeholders to improve academic performance across the municipality.
The Municipal Director further urged teachers to remain dedicated to their duties and provide the necessary guidance and support to students to help them achieve their educational goals.
He also called on members of the public to report any challenges, misconduct or practices that could negatively affect teaching and learning to the Municipal Education Directorate.
Mr. Boateng explained that timely information from the public would enable the Directorate to identify problems within the education sector and take appropriate measures to address them.
He stressed that improving education is a collective responsibility and therefore called for stronger collaboration among the Ghana Education Service, teachers, parents, traditional authorities, community members and other stakeholders.
The Municipal Director of Education also appealed to parents and guardians to continue monitoring the academic progress and general wellbeing of their children, particularly as the beneficiaries prepare to transition from the basic school level to Senior High School.
He encouraged the students to appreciate the support they had received, remain disciplined and focused on their studies.
Mr. Boateng expressed optimism that with the combined efforts of teachers, parents, students and other stakeholders, the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality would continue to produce excellent students who could become responsible citizens and future leaders.
