Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai MP Supports Over 430 SHS Students With Educational Materials

The Member of Parliament for the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, Hon. Bright Asamoah Brefo, has supported more than 430 students who obtained aggregates between 6 and 12 in the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) with educational materials as they prepare to enter Senior High School (SHS).

The items presented to the students included trunks, exercise books, pens, school bags and plastic chop boxes.

The educational support is aimed at assisting brilliant students across the constituency and reducing the financial burden on parents and guardians as they prepare their children for the next stage of their education.

The beneficiaries, who distinguished themselves in the BECE, are expected to use the materials as they begin their Senior High School education.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Bright Asamoah Brefo said the initiative forms part of his commitment to supporting education in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency.

He explained that the intervention is also in fulfilment of promises he made to support students and promote educational development within the constituency.

According to the MP, education plays a critical role in shaping the future of young people and equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to society.

He said his decision to support the students was motivated by the need to encourage them to take their education seriously and aspire to achieve greater heights.

Hon. Bright Asamoah Brefo urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items and remain focused on their studies.

He encouraged them not to allow social activities, peer pressure or other distractions to interfere with their education, stressing that their academic performance could determine the opportunities available to them in the future.

The MP said he believes that investing in education is an investment in the future of the constituency, adding that today's students could become tomorrow's professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders and policymakers.

He further emphasised that the support was not intended for students based on their political, religious or social affiliations.

Hon. Bright Asamoah Brefo stressed that there was no discrimination in the selection and distribution of the educational materials, as the primary objective was to support students who had performed well academically and encourage them to continue excelling.

He noted that some parents and guardians face financial challenges in providing all the necessary materials required for their children to begin SHS, and therefore expressed hope that the donation would provide some relief.

The MP also encouraged parents and guardians to continue supporting their children and creating a conducive environment for them to study.

He appealed to the beneficiaries to appreciate the support by working hard, respecting their teachers and parents, and maintaining good discipline throughout their SHS education.

Hon. Bright Asamoah Brefo expressed the hope that the beneficiaries would justify the investment being made in their education and eventually become responsible citizens who would contribute to the development of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency and Ghana as a whole.

He reiterated his commitment to supporting educational initiatives that would improve the academic fortunes of students in the constituency and provide young people with opportunities to build a brighter future.
