Hon. Nicholas Amankwah, the Member of Parliament for Wassa Amenfi East has donated 50 bags of cement towards renovating English and Arabic Basic School in Wassa Akropong in Amenfi East municipality of the Western Region.
The donation presented by the lawmaker on Tuesday, 30th January, 2024 sought to speed up renovating the basic school that was in a poor state, after the leadership of the school had called on the MP to support them.
Presenting in a brief ceremony at the school premises, the Wassa Amenfi East MP who’s known as Home Boy said quality education was the most integral component of development in the community.
The MP said, “It’s been exciting to donate 50 bags of cement to the Arabic Community school in my beloved constituency.”
Nicholas Amankwah told the media that “the Arabic and English school in Wassa Akropong has been impactful in discharging their mandates to the good people of Amenfi East constituency. And I believe this donation will go a long way in helping them complete some of their projects.” He added.
He extended his warmest appreciation to the headteacher, Mr. Raphael Amedome, who received the cements on behalf of the school and all stakeholders.
For his part, Mr. Raphael Amedome, the headteacher for English and Arabic Basic School in Wassa Akropong, expressed his gratitude to the MP for responding to their call for support.
Mr. Raphael Amedome, acknowledging the achievements of the MP, has called on the people of Wassa Amenfi East to rally behind the MP in the discharge of his duties to help bring the needed development to the constituency.
He mentioned that the 50 bags of cement arrived at the perfect moment and promised to use them for their intended purpose.
The headteacher therefore called on philanthropists and organisations to come to the aid of the school to help improve academic excellence.
