Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Bennie, Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Post Company Limited, has donated 30 bags of cement and an undisclosed amount of money to support the construction of a community centre at Sefwi Buabenso in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The donation follows an appeal by the chief of the community for assistance towards the construction of the facility, which is expected to serve as a venue for community meetings and other important social activities.
Presenting the items on behalf of Lawyer Bennie, his Personal Assistant, Nana Appiah Mensah Nhyiraba, said the donation forms part of his commitment to philanthropic activities and community development.
He explained that Lawyer Bennie has the development of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency at heart and has supported several communities within the municipality through various interventions.
According to him, the donation reflects Lawyer Bennie's willingness to respond to appeals from communities seeking support for projects that can improve their social well-being.
He also reaffirmed Lawyer Bennie's commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to the development of communities within the constituency.
The Chief of Sefwi Buabenso, Nana Kwabena Kesse Nkwantabisa II, who also serves as the Asokwahene of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, expressed gratitude to Lawyer Bennie for responding to the community's appeal.
He thanked the Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Post Company Limited for the donation, describing the support as an important contribution towards the construction of the community centre.
The chief's appeal and the subsequent donation highlight the role of private individuals and philanthropists in supporting community development, particularly in areas where local resources may not be sufficient to undertake important projects.
The donation is expected to contribute to the construction of the facility as the community continues its efforts to establish a centre that will support communal activities and strengthen social interaction among residents.
The people of Sefwi Buabenso will look forward to further support and collaboration to ensure the successful completion of the project.
