Inspiring the Next Generation: Ogyeahoho Science and Tech Fair Empowers Tomorrow’s Innovators

The Bibiani Senior High School was abuzz with excitement today as it hosted the second edition of the Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair.

Under the theme “Empowering Tomorrow’s Innovators Today,” the event sought to inspire students to embrace science and technology while providing them with a platform to showcase their creativity, inventions, and innovative projects.

The fair commenced with a warm welcome to participants, which included students, educators, and community leaders.

One of the most anticipated speakers, Mr. Seth Boateng, the Western North Regional Director of Education, took the stage with an inspiring message.

“This is your opportunity to ask questions,” he urged, emphasizing the importance of curiosity in education.

Mr. Boateng reminded the students that inquiry is the first step toward understanding and innovation—a principle at the heart of scientific discovery.

Next, Hon. Wilbert Petty Brentum, the Western North Regional Minister, delivered a passionate address highlighting the value of education in shaping the future.

“This is your time to learn,” he declared, encouraging students to seize every opportunity that comes their way. He reminded them that the knowledge they acquire today will serve as the foundation for their success tomorrow.

His words ignited a renewed sense of purpose and determination among the young audience.

Following him, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs, shared powerful insights on the role of technology in modern society.

“Take this initiative seriously, for technology is what propels the world forward,” he advised.

His remarks challenged the students to think critically about how they could contribute meaningfully to technological advancement and national development.

As the event continued, Madam Ifeanyi Adjei, one of the fair’s organizers, addressed a topic that many students find daunting—science and mathematics.

Speaking with encouragement, she reassured them: “Science and mathematics are powerful tools for innovation. Embrace them and let them guide you in your quest for knowledge.” Her words helped dispel the fear surrounding these subjects, motivating students to approach them with confidence and curiosity.

The second edition of the Ogyeahoho Science and Tech Fair was not just a celebration of innovation—it was a testament to the transformative power of education, curiosity, and determination. The event successfully reaffirmed its mission: to nurture young minds and empower the innovators of tomorrow, today.
