SEFWI WIAWSO MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY IN COLLABORATION WITH GHANA INAUGURATE COCOA CITY EXPERIENCE

The Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly together with Ghana Tourism Authority has inugurante the ' *Sefwi Wiawso Cocoa City Experience*', slated to be held in November.

The festival which is said to welcome the Diaspora and also will welcome all residents who has left Sefwi Wiawso to any other place, either in or outside the country.

The ceremony held at the Forecourt of Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, brought together dignitaries including the Deputy CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority Hon Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey (Abeiku Santana), District Chief Executive of Sefwi Bodi, crew from Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council,Nana Elluo Panyin III the Kyidomhene of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council and the Chief of Sefwi Nsuosua subchiefs and queens under the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area, the media, the clergy, among many others.

The sequence of events involved in the festival would include a cleanup exercise, Diaspora Welcome, Inter Schools Quiz Competition, Street Carnival, Artistes in Western North Region Performance and fundraising dinner to  personnel in Sefwi Wiawso  in the Street, among many others.

In his address, Hon Gyasi also the  called on all residents from Wiawso in the diaspora, and in Ghana to come make the festival a successful and memorable one.

He urged the general public to play their part and make Sefwi Wiawso rise again.

On his part, Hon Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey (Abeiku Santana) the Deputy CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority emphasized the need to rekindle the spirit of Wiawso through unity and festivity. He added that, he is willing to do anything within his powers to make sure Sefwi Wiawso in the Western North Region to rise again, noting that, this festival would be held every November as one of the greatest Festival Ghana has ever had and also make sure that it will be in a Diaspora World and set Western North Region as a tourist sites in Ghana when the White's visit Ghana for the purpose of Cocoa.
