More than 5,000 students are set to benefit from the Ogyeahoho Science and Tech Fair, an initiative designed to promote innovation and STEM education across schools.

Bibiani Senior High School buzzed with excitement as it hosted the second edition of the Ogyeahoho Science and Tech Fair, themed “Empowering Tomorrow’s Innovators Today.”

The event aimed to inspire students across the Western North Region to embrace science and technology, offering them a platform to showcase their creativity, inventions, and innovative ideas.

The fair opened with a warm welcome, drawing participation from students, educators, and community leaders.

Among the distinguished speakers was Hon. Wilbert Petty Brentum, Western North Regional Minister, who spoke passionately about the importance of education in shaping the nation’s future.

“This is your time to learn,” he declared, urging students to seize every opportunity that comes their way.
“The knowledge you acquire today will pave the way for your success tomorrow.”

Hon. Brentum emphasized that this year’s fair is expected to benefit over 5,000 students across the region, sparking renewed enthusiasm for science and innovation among young learners.

Mr. Seth Boateng, Western North Regional Director of Education, also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to stay curious and inquisitive.

“This is your opportunity to ask questions,” he said, highlighting curiosity as the foundation of discovery and innovation.

His message resonated deeply with the students, reminding them that true learning begins with the courage to explore and question.

The President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, delivered a powerful address on the transformative role of technology in modern society.

“Take this initiative seriously, for technology propels the world forward,” he advised.

He urged students to take full advantage of the fair, work hard, and position themselves for opportunities in the mining and technology industries.

Adding to the inspiring speeches, Madam Ifeanyi Oduro, one of the event’s organizers, tackled a subject that often intimidates students science and mathematics. With calm reassurance, she encouraged participants not to fear these disciplines.

“Science and mathematics are powerful tools for innovation,” she said. “Embrace them, and let them guide your quest for knowledge.”

Her words left a lasting impression, motivating students to approach STEM subjects with confidence and enthusiasm.

As the fair concluded, it was clear that the Ogyeahoho Science and Tech Fair had achieved its goal — igniting curiosity, confidence, and a spirit of innovation in the minds of the next generation of Ghanaian scientists and technologists.
