Mother’s Day: Diamond City holds free health screening for Bibiani residents
The Chief Executive Office of Diamond City in Bibiani Mr Francis Coffie popularly known as Jesus Open Doors and his wife Mrs Gifty Coffie has organised a free health screening exercise for more than 100 people at Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
Speaking with the media, he said many people did not undertake regular check-ups due to the lack of funds, for which reason he and his wife decided to organise free health screening exercise for residents within Bibiani and its environment as part of the Mother’s Day celebration to enable them to access free medical treatment from specialists.
He used the opportunity to entreat his colleagues’ man's support and be cooperative with their wives and wish all women a happy mother’s day.
Mrs Gifty Coffie, on her part, advised the beneficiaries to make their health a priority, just as they treated their work and related matters and wish all mothers a happy Mother’s Day.
Mr Emmanuel Nkoah, public health nurse at the Bibiani government hospital, added that beneficiaries were screened for malaria, blood pressure, diabetes or breast cancer.
He underscored the need for regular medical screening and check-ups, saying, “This screening is important. It’s not like people here don’t know how to get to the hospital. But they do not have money to go. Even if they go and are given a prescription, they cannot buy. That is why, for such screening, it is prudent to make basic medications available.”
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke with the Bibianinews.com thanked Jesus Open Doors for the free medical examination, saying it had made them aware of their health status.
