IMPROVING QUALITY HEALTHCARE DELIVERY: Asante Gold Bibiani Ltd to Construct 100-Bed Obstetrics and Gynaecology Block for Bibiani Municipal Hospital

As part of its ongoing commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality, Asante Gold Bibiani Ltd has announced plans to construct a 100-bed capacity Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) block for the Bibiani Municipal Hospital.

The new facility will include two state-of-the-art operating theatres, a laboratory, an ambulance bay, and an ultrasound unit, all within the same block, aimed at enhancing maternal and child healthcare services in the region.

This announcement was made by the General Manager of Asante Gold Bibiani Ltd, Ing. Samuel Kwesi Takyi, during the official handing-over ceremony of the newly renovated Bibiani Municipal Hospital Mortuary—a project jointly funded by Asante Gold Bibiani Ltd and PW Mining International.

Ing. Takyi highlighted that the construction of the O&G block forms part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which focus on strengthening healthcare infrastructure and promoting community well-being.

The Medical Superintendent of the Bibiani Municipal Hospital, Dr. Akwasi Adu Gyamfi, expressed profound gratitude to the mining company for its unwavering support. He acknowledged that Asante Gold Bibiani Ltd has played a pivotal role in the hospital’s development through various health projects and interventions.

Dr. Gyamfi added that the proposed 100-bed O&G facility will greatly enhance the hospital’s capacity to deliver quality maternal and reproductive healthcare services to residents of Bibiani and surrounding communities.
